I have a number of devices with custom performance monitor graphs configured. My APC UPS devices have 5 and a couple Squid servers have 9. What I'm noticing now on multiple instances of both of these device types is that the custom performance monitors will just stop graphing data. The active monitors pointing to the same SNMP strings will continue to be fine, but the graph will just stop updating and say "no data for X monitors." It isn't all of them on any one device, either, it's just some of them. 3/5 APC monitors, 6 or 7 / 9 Squid graphs... it's very odd.

To fix this all I need to do is go into the device in WUG and press ok, not even making any changes, and WUG starts collecting data again. This is obviously rather annoying, and am wondering if this bug has been identified yet.

I am running 12.0, but did not see this issue mentioned in the release notes for either 12.0.2 or 12.3.

Well, this won't help you too much but I'm having the exact same problem - I'm running 12.02 so it's definitely not fixed in that version.  My interface monitoring graphs on my Cisco devices just suddenly stop (not all at the same time, they just gradually grind to a halt one by one)  I hadn't realised that clicking ok on the device in WUG itself would kick things going again but I tried that and, as you say, that seems to do it.  Until now, I had been stopping and restarting the WUG engine service and that would do the same thing.

I contacted Ipswitch Technical Support on this but they were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard (needless to say, I won't be renewing my maintenance support for this product given the extortionate costs they are asking and the poor support provided!)

I also posted a forum message on this problem too but unfortunately noone has a solution as yet:

http://forums.ipswitch.com/Topic47355-14-1.aspx

But it is very frustrating so it would be good to have a proper solution to this issue if anyone can help!

Hey guys,

I'm passing this issue on to our development team to investigate. I'll post back when I get some indication of a cause, a workaround, or a solution.

Michen, please e-mail or PM your contact information to me. If you're willing, I'd like to talk with you to figure out where we fell down on providing the level of support you deserve.

Thank you for investigating this issue.

It's definitely taking place on more than just Cisco switches for us here, and yes it does appear to crap out one device at a time for me as well.

Since I restarted the performance monitors by clicking "ok" I haven't lost any, but it seems to take a number of days before things start to fail and I just restarted them yesterday.

I've upgraded to 12.3 today so I'll see if that makes any difference and let you know - so far, so good. But, as you say, it can sometimes take a few days before everything just "stops"

Just a quick update - this problem still occurs for me even after upgrading to v12.3.

We haven't been able to reproduce this issue in-house, but we have fixed an issue for the next release that we think corrects this problem. When v12.3.1 ships, please try it and let us know if it corrects your issue.

For the record, our WUG installation is version 12.3 and we are also experiencing the same issue. I look forward to the patch.
