| Here's the scenario:
- Polling services on a Windows 2008 Exchange 2005 cluster
- Cluster possesses several name: Physical 1, Physical 2, Windows Virtual, Resource Virtual
- Administrator wishes to poll a base set of Windows services on each physical server: for instance, MS Clustering Services, Exchange Services, A/V...
- While also polling the virtual server's services: Exchange Information Store, Exchange System Attendant
Not terrifically unreasonable you might say? Well no, this breaks polling engine. No trace is logged in the event viewer, or WUP's application log, the service remains active, but polling simply ceases. Has any else seen this behaviour?
To preempt the stock tech replies: 1) v12.0.3, 2) Monitoring server is on W2K3 SP2, 3) 200 devices under management, 4) running WUP since v8
Thank you,
