Hi everyone,

I plan to install WS_FTP Server With SSH in the DMZ and allow SSH connection and also HTTPS with the installation of the Web Transfert  Module.

* I want to know after the port 25 for the SSH, what ports to open ?

* The ssh accept connections on the port 25, but on witch ports it respond to the clients? I suppose that i have to open that'S ports also ?

* The same for HTTPS, witch ports to open to make it work ?

* Is there a way to install the " WS_FTP Server MANAGER" on a computer on the intranet side, instead of installing it on the Sever in the DMZ ?

Thank you very much for your Help !

SSH usually uses port 22 and not port 25. Port 25 is the default port for SMTP. I would recommend using port 22 so it does not interfere with anything on the clients end. For the HTTPS, it will communicate on whatever port you choose in IIS usually 443 so this port will need to be opened. As for the Management console, this is web based so it will be available if the port is open through the firewall .

Ok I understand,

But for SSH, the Clients connect to port 22, do I have to open all the ports from 1024 for the server to communicate with the clients, or is there any other specific ports to open ?

Thank you

All the information for SSH connections is handled on Port 22 so separate data channels do not have to be opened.
