| My cousin used my computer (w/ Win XP). He did something (he doesn't remember what) so that when I open WSFTP (v. 2006), it opens OK, but if I try to minimize it, so I can reposition the Window, the window moves off the monitor screen completely. I watch it rush off the screen to the right and disappear. I have to close the program from the icon along the bottom of the screen and then open it back up to see it again.
How can I reset this so it doesn't do that?
Thanks. |

| Have you tried uninstalling the application and reinstalling it? You can back up your configuration information by following the steps here: http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/WS-20040702-DM03.htm.

| Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I'll do that as a last resort. When reinstalling, there's always the problem of getting the registration codes to work again, without a hassle...
I talked to support several years ago about the same problem, but with an earlier version of FTP Pro. They had me delete a specific file (a DLL?). Once I closed and reopened the program, the file recreated itself and everything was fine. I was hoping someone knew which file that was.
Thanks again.

| I think you are talking about wsftp_options.ini which is located C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FTP. Rename the file while the program is not open then launch the application to recreate it. See if that does the trick.
