I have 12.3 already installed, so when I try to install the preview version it complains that a newer version is already installed. Anyway around this?

We also have the same issue. WhatsConnected download is an older version then what we have installed.  I see  WhatsConnected greyed out in the menu items so is there a way to activate it with the provide serial number?

If you have WUG v12.3 already installed, you do not need to install the preview/TPP version of WhatsConnected. Just contact Ipswitch customer service to get a eval license for WhatsConnected added to youe existinf WUG license.

Simply activate the product using your WhatsConnected TPP serial#. You should have received this when you signed up.

You can activate with a different serial# by doing the following:

Start-->Programs-->Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold v12.3-->Manage WhatsUp Gold v12.3 License

Follow the instructions and use the WhatsConnected TPP serial when prompted for a serial.

Would I need to deactivate the real WUG license to activate using the WC trial license?

How will that affect operations?

Thanks, in advance.

Hi,
You don't need to deactivate the WUG serial. Activate using the WC TPP serial. It will enable all features (WUG, NetFlow, VoIP, WhatsConnected) until Oct 31st. You would need to reactivate using your WUG serial when the TPP license expires.

I didn't realize that WUG 12.3 was included in the PTT for WC, so I made the mistake of upgrading WUG to 12.3 first.

My only options are:

*   Refresh the current license

O   Deactivate this license on this computer

How do I activate the WC license?

My mistake. You could deactivate but it might be easier to just do this:

Rename the license.txt file in the WhatsUp program directory to license_old.txt
Now, run the license tool and use the WC TPP serial. When you want to switch back, just rename the license_old.txt file back to the original name and overwrite the TPP created file. Hope this makes sense...
