| OK, this is driving me nuts. It has taken me 3x longer to ftp files all day today because WS_FTP stays in the "Expanding folders" status for so long before it actually starts ftp'ing. I understand it is probably calculating the size of the entire bunch of files I am moving, but I would like to disable that "feature" because it slows everything down so much. Is this possible? I ended up downloading a trial of CuteFTP and got so much more done far faster because it doesn't do this calculation.
How do you turn that off?
Thanks, Christine |

| Due to the "expanding folders" problem, I have stopped using WS FTP Pro when trying to copy down whole file systems. I use Filezilla instead for this sort of operation. I am using WS FTP Pro less and less because of this one problem. You don't want to use two ftp clients. You just want the one. When filezilla grows up a little more I will probably switch lock, stock and barrel.

| | Wow, I posted this in 2006 and assumed it would be fixed by now. I had been thinking of switching back to WS_FTP from CuteFTP, but I guess I won't be doing that now! CuteFTP has excellent performance btw, so you may want to try it out. |
