If you have webmail installed on your server, try using that to access the user's mailbox, just to see if the webmail client shows all messages.

In the past, with a different IMail version (9.23) and a different client (Mac Mail), some users were unable to download certain messages, and it would block their POP access. The only recourse was for them to log into webmail and move the messages to another folder, one at a time, until they found the "guilty" message and could download the rest of their mail.

We never found a common link that connected the messages. And as far as I know, since we've upgraded to 10.01, the problem hasn't recurred.

If you don't have webmail on your server, how about trying IMAP?

Unless someone has tampered with the .MBX file, it's probably not the file itself that is causing the problem.
