| I cant seem to figure out if there is a way to lock down SMTP access to authenticated users, regardless of what IP they are coming from.
The only options I can find are the following:
Deny SMTP access to everyone except the following IP address's
or
Allow SMTP access to everyone except the following IP address's
Problem is, I need my users with laptops to be able to use this box as their outgoing SMTP server no matter where they are at.
Is there a way to set it up to deny SMTP access to all but a certain list of IPs, but also allow authenticated users to relay through, no matter what the IP is?
I want to minimize the amount of spam that is coming into this box. The MX records all point to my spam filter, which then forwards mail for my domains to the Imail server. I have port 25 open so that users can use it as an outbound SMTP server, but no MX records point to it. There is a good amount of email that comes right into this system from the internet, not going through the spam filter.
Any help would be appreciated |

| In the admin guide you will find instructions that explain that a user that authenticates will always be able to send and that if you have to allow certian IP addresses to relay through the relay setting to choose is "relay for addresses".
