| I have spent most of my Sunday trying to install ICS 2006 using the latest patch file (ics-premium200602a.exe). When the install starts I get a pop up window with a title of "Ipswitch Messaging - InstallShield Wizard" that says:
Error loading activation module. I then have the option to do the install but I only get the 30 day trial. If this is going to be a big problem with fixing this, then I don't want to have to completely reinstall it. If I click on the "Activate Now" button I get another popup box with a title of "Unhandled Exception" that says:
Error Number: 0x80040702
Description: Failed to load DLL: AladdinUtil
Setup will now terminate. Has anyone else run across this? What is wrong with that module and what needs to be done to fix it? |

| I'm experiencing this problem in trying to move WUG 2006 to a new server (HP Proliant DL385G2).
Currently, we have no budget available to upgrade.
Frankly, given its severity I'm surprised that no one from Ipswitch has responded to this question. |

| No doubt others already figured this out, but here's what worked for me.
On initial installation, do NOT click Activate Now.
Complete the installation, then do the activation.

| | My trouble was caused by trying to install on a 64 bit OS. I rebuild the server with a 32 bit OS and everything worked fine. |
