| | HI, I am running a 8.x iMail server. A very important email account is orverwhelemed with spam and at this point hard to navigate (300 + megs of mail). I would like to clean it out completely by physically logging into tthe server, navigateing to the imail folder/domain/user account, and deleting all the mail. Can anyone please give me a heads up on this? I have attempted to use a mail client (MS outlook) to download and delete the mail, but several attempts have taken as many days, and at the end of each attempt, it starts over again. So the only solution is to clean it out from the server. Thanks in advance |

| | The easiest way is to go onto the server that runs iMail and find the users directory (usually C:\Program Files\Ipswitch\Messaging\iMail\users\). Then, locate the .mbx file that corresponds to the folder you want to clean out (in this case, inbox.mbx for the right user's folder) and delete the .mbx. This will empty the mailbox and the file will be recreated once new mail arrives for it. |
