After quite a few hours trying to figure out why a client could not connect to our WSFTP Server 6.1 with SSH we finally found the culprit.  Even though it's a common 'best practice' to disable default banners, this can cause problems with some SSH ftp clients.  It appears that the banner provides some important version and/or protocol information.  For some clients, without this data being provided in the banner, they may not be able to complete authentication.

Just hoping to save you some time if you have the same problem.
