I am trying to generate an email alert for an Active Script monitor that simply states the Device Name, the Active Monitor and the alert description.  I have looked at the Percent Variables and come up with this, but it doesn't seem to be working.

%Device.DisplayName %ActiveMonitor.Payload is: 80% Full

any help would be great

First, you need to set up your email alert in the Action Library. This is where you use the Percent Variables. Then, you will need to set up the Action Policy. This is what will call the individual actions. For example, you can set up an Action Policy called AlertMe that will contain 2 actions, one to email you when the monitor first triggers a "DOWN" state, then another to email you when the monitor goes back to an "UP" state. The "Action to Perform" field is where you put the individual actions you defined earlier. Now, you have to apply the policy. You can do this by either going to the Device Property for a particular device, and setting an individual Active Monitor (for the specific monitor, such as Ping) or by going to the Actions property. The difference is that the Actions property will trigger whenever ANY monitor goes "DOWN," whereas the other one is specific to the Active monitor you choose.

Hope this helps.

Please note that %ActiveMonitor.Payload can only be used in actions applied on the monitor level.

It will be empty if included in an action applied at the device level.
