Hi, I'm trying to install WS-FTP on my Windows Vista machine.

However, while the files are being copied it suddenly crashes with the following message...

Feature: ProRel

Component: OEM

File: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\

Error: The system cannot find the path specified

I'd like to stay with WS-FTP PRo if I can but if I can't instagll it then I'll have no option but to go elsewhere.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks,

Tony

Hi, I clicked on the link that said, "Try WS_FTP Professional free for 30 days" and was taken to this page:

http://wsftp.com/products/ws_ftp_professional/try/

...where only one version of WS-FTP is available.  I assume that it ought to work with Vista because Vista has been Microsoft's current version of Windows since November 2006.

Chances are that the majority of people who try to download this trial version will by now be using Vista and there's nothing on the page that says it won't work with Vista.  If that were the case surely Ipswitch would let people know and not waste their time with a download that won't work.

And surely Ipswitch would not be silly enough to still be offering software that only works with the previous version of Windows.

Surely a company as big as Ipswitch would not get that wrong, would they?

Thanks,

Tony

Well, I just wanted to confirm that you were indeed installing the Vista Compatible Version rather than one you had bought earlier and were reinstalling the older version on a new Vista machine....

Are you right clicking on the installer and specifing to " Run As Administrator"

solved some of my issues installing apps that were not certified for vista.
